In Young Contemporary, the debuting line Effie’s Heart
proves it all comes down to the details. The designer and
owner, known simply as Kimo, is the artist behind the
screen-printed tees, hats, and accessories. “They’re vintage-
feeling pieces with a modern twist.” She says. For example,
the artwork on one longer-bodied tee is drawn from a Man
Ray photograph of his 1920’s muse, Kiki. Hats include
classic vintage styles like the reversible tulip cloche and a
crocheted snood. She also designs brocade and gingham
headbands and saloon–style feather clips.
